Presentara Player Help

With Presentara Player, you have all your presentations all in one place, you never need to search different drives for them anymore, and if you have Presentara Player installed on your laptop, you always carry them with you, you will never forget a presentation anymore.

Presentara Player enables you to run the presentations made on your Presentara system, so you can show them on your Desktop PC, laptop or projector.  You don’t need to be online when using the Presentara Player.

You can also make a video of a single presentation and export it to your hard drive, so you can mail it, publish it to a website or blog, publish it on YouTube, embed it in a quotation, save it on a USB flash drive, burn it on a media or what else you can possibly think of doing with a video file.

And finally, you always have access to the latest presentations, no matter where in the world you are, all it requires is an internet connection – then you can synchronize your player with your Presentara system at home, and your Presentara Player is up-to-date.
Presentara and Presentara Player are continuously being developed based on the needs of our customers who give us feedback on their needs, their use, and errors encountered. You can access the online help at www.presentara.com for updated information.

  • When all applications are installed, you can move on to establish connection.
  • Choose “Load Key”
  • Find the .key file on your PC, choose it, and click “Open”.
  • You are now back in the “General Installation" window.
  • If the key is valid, you can Press OK, which will lead you to the log in window.
  • You can now enter your Username and your Password, and log in.

Remember to Synchronize first time you log in, to make sure you have updated data in your Presentara system.

First time settings

When all applications are installed, you can move on to establish connection.

  • Remember til Synchronize first time you log in, to make sure you have updated data in your Presentara system.

When you Log in, you need to write Username and Password, this is obtainable by the person administering your Presentara system. When you have entered your username the first time, Presentara Player will remember your Username, but for security reasons you have to log in each time.

Exit

The exit menu closes down your Presentara player.

Main Categories

Select your main category. You will get access to the menu with your presentations after having selected one. You can only select categories activated in the Presentara system. The menu will only show you the current choices related to where you are.

Options

The Options menu gives you access to a number of settings, you can modify in order til make your presentation suit the purpose. The menu will disappear when clicking outside the menu.

  • Autoplay You can toggle Autoplay on and off. When on, Autoplay will run the slides in the selected presentation automatically. The time allowed for each slide is set in Presentara. The “Slide Duration” on each slide, is where you control this.
  • View
    • Auto dimmer This tool makes the surroundings of the Presentara interface darken when a presentation is running. The visual effect focuses the attention of the audience on the presentation content. When the presentation is over, and the menu interface reappears, the background will lighten up again.
    • Run time Run time will add a red bar below the slider, which will advance to show how long time there is left of the slide relatively. This is commonly used when Autoplay is on, but also usable for a videoslide on normal mode.
    • Headline If you don’t want the headline of each slide to show, you can turn it off by using this tool.

When you synchronize, you Presentara Player checks the server to see if any changes have been made since last synchronization.

The synchronization does not download the entire content of the server; only changes since your last synchronization are downloaded, thus making the process faster.

Reset

If your Presentara Player encounters an error, that does not get solved by performing a synchronization, you can reset your Presentara Player. All content will be deleted from your PC, and you have to make a full synchronization afterwards – thus you have to be online for this.

Error analysis

If you experience an error while using the Presentara Player, you can run Error Analysis. If it encounters an error, you can send the error data to us from Presentara which will help us fix the problem. In order to get your Presentara Player to work, you must reset your system from the Settings – Reset menu.

After having reset your system, you have to synchronize – thus you need to be online.

Change logo
You can permanently change the logo displayed in the top left, by selecting this. You can replace it with a picture which must be named “mylogo.jpg”  Size must be : YY x ZZ pixels.
Selecting Change Logo will open your Windows Explorer, which will allow you to navigate to your own logo. The change will be permanent until you change to another logo.

Export settings
This will allow you to change the recording settings, like the size of the video file you get when exporting a presentation. A warning window will appear first, as changes here are critical to your video recording quality. You will open Schia – Windows Media Profile Editor. There are a number of advanced settings you can change here, use “Help” in the bottom of the window if needed. If you want to change the size of the video you export, choose “Quality-based”. In the second part of the window, you will see Video Size: Default settings is check mark in “Same as video input” Remove the check mark in the box, and you can change your video output. Remember the default setting of Presentara is 1024 x 768 pixels, thus a 4 x 3 format like 320 x 240 will work best.

Export

The Export tool enables you to make an .avi video file of a selected presentation. Here is how it works: Select your Main Category – you probably already did that – then choose export on the menu. If your system is set up with possibility to export to a FTP server you can choose that at this moment, otherwise you are asked if you want to export locally (to your pc).

Pressing Yes opens a window where you can choose where to save the video on your PC, you also give your file a name at this point – don’t write .avi, it happens automatically.

Then find the presentation you want to export and press start. When you press start, the cursor disappears and your presentation is recorded. When the presentation is over, the Presentara Player will return to the menu window, and the video is saved as an .avi file where you choose it.

You cannot export if you have 2 or more monitors active at the same time. If you normally work with more than one monitor, you need to disable all other monitors while exporting.

Sound Settings

When exporting a presentation with sound, your sound settings must be adjusted. Open “Volume Control” (the loudspeaker in the bottom of your desktop)

sdfsd
